patella fracture

A patellar fracture is a break in the kneecap. It typically results from a direct fall onto a bent knee or from intense muscle contraction. Typical signs include severe pain at the front of the knee, noticeable swelling, bruising, and an inability to actively straighten the leg at the knee or bear weight on it.
