joint instability

Joint instability refers to impaired and insecure guidance of the bones within a joint during movement. The affected joint has excessive play, easily gives way, feels wobbly, or - in the worst-case scenario - dislocates completely. Common causes include torn or overstretched ligaments, weak muscles, or congenital connective tissue weakness.
