Hallux limitus and hallux rigidus

Hallux limitus and hallux rigidus - Hallux limitus and hallux rigidus are caused by various foot misalignments. In the case of hallux limitus, the mobility of the metatarsophalangeal joint is restricted. In the case of hallux rigidus, is stiffens up. This leaves the joint continuously exposed to a high pressure load during the heel-to-toe movement of the foot, which can lead to painful inflammation and osteoarthritis/cartilage wear.
