foot drop
Foot drop (also known as drop foot or peroneal nerve palsy) is the inability to actively lift the foot and toes upward. Affected individuals drag their toes along the ground while walking or use a stork-like compensatory step (steppage gait). Common causes include nerve damage at the head of the fibula, herniated discs, or neurological conditions such as strokes.
