fibular ligament rupture

A fibular ligament rupture is a tear of the lateral ligaments of the ankle joint. It usually occurs when the foot twists or turns inward. Typical signs include severe pain, rapid swelling, and bruising around the ankle. In most cases, the tear heals well without surgery through the use of a splint and rest.
