dislocation prophylaxis

Dislocation prophylaxis encompasses all medical, therapeutic, and behavioral measures intended to prevent the dislocation of a joint. It is particularly important following the implantation of artificial joints (such as a hip prosthesis), in cases of ligament instability, or after previous, recurrent dislocations (for example, of the shoulder).
