de Quervain's disease
De Quervain's disease (also known as de Quervain's stenosing tenosynovitis) is a painful inflammation of the tendon sheaths of the thumb tendons at the wrist on the thumb side. Overuse causes the tendons of the abductor pollicis longus and extensor pollicis brevis to swell, resulting in severe pain when gripping, twisting, or moving the thumb.
