cruciate ligament lesion

A cruciate ligament injury (rupture or partial tear) is an injury to the ligaments in the knee, most commonly the anterior cruciate ligament. It often results from sports accidents involving rapid turning or sudden stops. Typical symptoms include a loud popping sound, immediate pain, severe swelling, and a sensation of instability in the knee.
