cartilage disease
A cartilage disorder (chondropathy) or cartilage damage refers to the wear, softening, or destruction of the protective articular cartilage. This frequently affects the knee joint or the posterior surface of the kneecap (chondropathia patellae). Since cartilage lacks blood vessels, it hardly heals on its own.
