cartilage damage

Cartilage damage refers to injury to the smooth layer of cartilage within a joint (most commonly the knee or ankle). It is caused by accidents or wear and tear. Symptoms include pain during movement, swelling, or a grating sensation in the joint. Minor damage often does not heal on its own but can be treated through rest or physiotherapy.
