humeral fracture

A humerus fracture is a break of the upper arm bone. Depending on the location of the fracture, it is classified into three main types: a fracture of the humeral head near the shoulder (proximal humerus fracture), a fracture of the humeral shaft (humeral shaft fracture), and a fracture near the elbow (distal humerus fracture). Treatment depends on the degree of displacement and ranges from conservative management involving immobilization to surgery.
