biceps-rupture

A tear of one of the tendons attaching the biceps muscle to the shoulder or elbow. It most commonly affects the long head of the biceps tendon at the shoulder (approx. 95% of cases), often due to wear and tear in older individuals or sudden overload in athletes. Typical symptoms include a loud popping sound, pain, and the so-called "Popeye arm" (where the muscle retracts downwards).
