The Rhizomed orthosis is specially designed to immobilize the thumb. Immobilization is particularly useful for operations on the thumb, for example the fixation of torn collateral ligaments (often a result of skiing accidents). The Rhizomed is specially designed for postoperative treatment so that the orthosis does not exert any pressure on the surgical scar.
The orthosis can also help relieve pain in the case of rizarthrosis, the wear and tear of the metatarsophalangeal joint.
